Crime Stoppers 5k

Happy (late) Fourth of July!

We spent our morning running the Crime Stoppers & Rotary Club 5k along Higgs & Smathers Beach. Pretty good way to kick off a holiday, if you ask me! The run was orchestrated by Southernmost Runners, which puts on the majority of runs down here. Registration included a pretty sweet swag bag, including a shirt that will look fab on my running shirt quilt! It felt pretty nice out, which was a bonus considering the thunderstorms that we were expecting.

new month, new chances!

I had a horrible weekend. Well, it was actually a fab weekend - I just ate horribly. Whatev, lesson learned: my body cannot handle eating that much or that poorly anymore. (read: miserable)

All week last week I was starving - I couldn't get enough to eat! Then on Saturday the mister & I went to Miami for the day - aka we stuffed ourselves at Buffalo Wild Wings (I had a grilled chicken wrap...I may or may not be drooling slightly just thinking about it).

But really, that's exactly what I did this morning when my pup Molly and I went for a run!

You're right.

Summer has already hit us here in the Keys. It's only the end of May and it's hit us hard. Hot, humid, sticky, thick, yucky. Welcome to paradise!

It's been civil war in my mind trying to convince myself to step foot outside and run. I just take the dogs out to potty and walk back in drenched in sweat - how can I bring myself to run in that heat? Let alone on purpose?!

Ok, my faithful friends...I am living up to my promise of posting our pictures from the Princess Half Marathon!

I bought a package from MarathonFoto for my professional pictures, so those are mixed in with the ones I took on my camera along the way. I'll spare you our pictures from our Disneyworld trip...but I may save those for a future post - consider yourself warned!

Holy moly, I won't blame you if you hate me and think I've abandoned you! I can't believe I haven't posted since OCTOBER - I'm honestly starting to think it's true what they say about time going faster and faster the older we get.

Anywho, it's now the 6th of May and the Princess Half Marathon - the culmination of my blood, sweat, and tears that I called training - has come and gone. Before I delve into the happenings since then, let me try to fill you in on the PHM and our Disney trip!
